Applying is not a contract

Nothing on this site creates an agreement between us. We take on a limited number of contractors, we read every application and look at the company before deciding, and we can decline. You will hear back either way.

If we do work together, we will sign a separate written agreement. That agreement — not this page — is what governs the work. Where this page and a signed agreement disagree, the signed agreement wins.

Your data stays yours

Your jobs, contacts, documents, and financial records are yours. You can export them in full at any time, and if you leave you can take the export with you. We do not hold your data hostage to keep you as a client.

Pricing

Any pricing or cost figures shown on this site are estimates for illustration, calculated from the assumptions stated next to them. They are not a quote and they may change. Your actual price comes from the signed agreement.

What this site is

This site is informational. We describe what we do and how we do it. It is not legal, tax, insurance, accounting, or engineering advice, and it is not a substitute for the licensed trades and professionals your projects require.

Accuracy

We try to keep everything here current and correct. Construction rules, code requirements, and costs change, and requirements differ by city, county, and state. Verify anything you plan to rely on against the authority having jurisdiction for your project. If you spot something here that is wrong or out of date, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it.

Availability

We aim to keep this site and the app online, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

Links and third parties

Where we link to another company's site or tool, we do not control it and we are not responsible for its content or its practices. Mentioning a product is not a warranty of it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this website. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and it does not affect the terms of a signed agreement between us.

This site is operated from California. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
